The great Russian novelist and historian Alexander Solzhenitsyn has died at 89. His work which detailed (often quite humorously) the Soviet labor camp system include 'One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich' and the three-part masterpiece 'The Gulag Archipelago.' Solzhenitsyn was truly one of the world's last great writers.
